Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Alexei Chepa in an interview with RT commented on a statement by British Secretary of Defense Ben Wallace that the United States can deepen its isolationist policy, and therefore Britain should be prepared to rely less on American assistance.
“In this situation, when Britain leaves the EU, it is obvious for them to consider the issue of independence in the military sphere from the United States,” Chepa is convinced.
According to the deputy, “NATO is largely tired of US pressure.”
“All purchases are mainly American-made, the prices are set by the Americans. And everyone perfectly understands who makes money on this. The policies of the military doctrine of the United States and EU countries are very different. Therefore, we hear more and more that everyone wants some independence from the States, ”he added.
Wallace said earlier that the United States is likely to deepen its isolationist policies, so Britain should be prepared to wage wars without relying on American assistance.
He called on the government to re-equip the army so that the troops were not dependent on the US armed forces, in particular on US reconnaissance aircraft.
