Alexey Chepa: “Democratic victory will aggravate the already complicated relations between Russia and the USA”

The deputy chairman of the Committee on International Affairs Aleksey Chepa noted that the victory of the Democrats was expected in Congress and that this would cause even greater aggravation of their internal struggle and pressure on President Trump.

“Obviously, the Democrats will try to blame (President of the United States) Trump for loyalty to Russia, loyalty to President Putin. I think this will force Trump to somehow defend himself and accept even tougher measures to show the opponents that this is not the case. I think that the victory of the Democrats will aggravate the already complicated relations between Russia and the United States” – said Alexei Chepa.

“These mid-term elections area very important political step in the USA. The lower house is elected and the Senate is renewed by one third. The elections have launched the upcoming presidential race. All domestic policy will now be directed at this,” he concluded.
