Alexey Chepa: Moscow needs to respond toughly to US provocations

Washington should take a number of steps to improve relations with Moscow – said on the eve of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. What the US is really doing in relations with Russia, and how to react to American provocations to Moscow – Aleksey Chepa, a deputy of the State Duma, told the political magazine PolitExpert.

Maria Zakharova touched upon the problems in relations between the Russian Federation and the United States, speaking on the TV channel “Russia-1” on the air of the show “Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov”. “If the US wants to move towards normalizing relations with the Russian Federation, then Washington needs to take several practical steps. In particular, in the situation with the issuance of US visas to Russians,” Zakharova said.

Zakharova’s words were supported by deputy Alexei Chepa, deputy chairman of the State Duma’s international affairs committee. “The Americans are sending their warships to the Black Sea, we hear about the unfriendly initiatives of the United States in Ukraine, Georgia, the Baltic states. These are even more provocative actions than just unfriendly ones. Russia is waiting for an explanation from Washington,” the deputy said.

Chepa added that the Russian Federation is inviting the United States to settle the differences at the level of foreign affairs agencies. In the future, according to the deputy, Moscow and Washington will be able to achieve some stabilization in relations, but one should hardly count on a real improvement in interaction. “Russia needs to toughly respond to any provocations from the United States,” said the State Duma deputy.
