Alexey Chepa: “The situation in Venezuela is unprofitable for the people of the country”

Domestic political instability in Venezuela is not primarily in the interests of the people of the country, Alexey Chep, deputy chairman of the Duma’s international affairs committee, told Nation News.

“The revolution in any case carries some consequences. It is difficult to say that the situation in the country is beneficial for someone: first of all, it is not profitable for local residents, ”said the deputy.

He noted that if the candidacy of the head of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Juan Guaydo, who declared himself the temporary leader of Venezuela, calls for the support of the population, it is necessary to hold elections in which citizens will make their choice.

“Alien interests cannot be imposed. The people should make the choice – Russia has always supported this position, ”said the legislator. He noted that the scenario that the West wants to “play out” in Venezuela has already been tested on other states more than once, but any changes in the country should take place only within the framework of the law.
