Anton Morozov: “Americans are going to withdraw part of the troops from Germany under pressure from the local community”

Americans are going to withdraw part of the troops from Germany under pressure from the local community, Anton Morozov, a member of the State Duma’s international affairs committee, told Izvestia on June 26.

Deputy Morozov noted that Germany has long been striving for independence from the United States, and the presence of American troops in Germany is in fact an occupation since 1945.

“I think Trump made this decision under pressure from the German public. American troops still control most of Germany, ”said the parliamentarian.
Moreover, American nuclear weapons are deployed in the country, which in itself creates a threat to Germany, the deputy stressed. According to him, the locations of nuclear weapons are potential targets for warring states.

“At the same time, the Americans do not want to leave Europe completely, because they still consider the Russian Federation their potential adversary, and decided to move their troops closer to our borders,” said Morozov.

In his opinion, for Russia these unfriendly actions pose growing threats to security, which forces Moscow to form its military potential on the borders with Poland.
“We would urge our American colleagues from a parliamentary angle to act more prudently in maintaining peace and security in Europe and to avoid provocative actions against Russia,” the member of the State Duma’s Foreign Affairs Committee concluded.
