Anton Morozov, a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, in an interview with the RT television channel on Monday commented on the statement by the British Prime Minister Theresa May on the intention to continue to advocate for the strengthening of sanctions against Russia.
The head of the British government also noted that the incident that occurred between Moscow and Kiev in the Kerch Strait is “not the only example of Russian aggression.”
“London simply does not want to understand the details and delve into the situation. There are guided by unverified sources from the media, controlled by Kiev. Therefore, they make the wrong geopolitical decisions, ”said Morozov.
The deputy added that, as practice has shown, “no sanctions of Russia are not terrible.” “Our country is big and self-sufficient in all respects. The only way to resolve all disputable situations is a benevolent dialogue on an equal basis. Regarding the incident in the Kerch Strait, Vladimir Putin explained quite clearly that this is a provocation of Kiev, which was aimed precisely at provoking NATO troops to enter their ships into the Black Sea, which was recently refused by the Alliance Secretary General, ”Morozov concluded.
On November 25, three ships of the Ukrainian Navy were detained because of violations of the Russian border while traveling from the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov. The Russian side called the incident a provocation, and Ukraine, taking advantage of the case, imposed martial law in the country.
