Anton Morozov: The effectiveness of inter-parliamentary diplomacy depends on the connection of deputies and senators with their voters

Anton Morozov, member of the Committee on International Affairs, took part in the II International Forum on the Development of Parliamentarism, during which a discussion was held in the framework of the International Security: Legislators’ Dialogue for Peace and Stability section.

The parliamentarian noted that Russia attaches great importance to the development of inter-parliamentary diplomacy, since traditional intergovernmental diplomacy is not always effective.

“Deputies and senators who have direct communication with their constituents, who work in their regions and who interact with their fellow parliamentarians on a bilateral basis, are often able to work out more effective mechanisms for dealing with global challenges,” he said.
