Anton Morozov: “The ex-head of the CIA, calling Putin a gift for NATO, disingenuous”

Former CIA head David Petraeus, calling President of Russia Vladimir Putin “the greatest gift for NATO,” disingenuous, and the United States pursues its “national mercantile interests,” said member of the International Affairs Committee, MP from the LDPR faction Anton Morozov. He stated this in an interview with Duma TV. The parliamentarian also stressed that the Americans are “forcing an imaginary threat,” which does not exist on the part of the Russian Federation.

“As I understand, the Americans want to preserve this organization (NATO. – Ed.) For the actual occupation of European states,” said Anton Morozov.

“The background of NATO’s preservation in Europe is, of course, economic. In addition, at one time, the Soviet Union and Russia withdrew troops from Eastern European states, and the Americans left their forces, seeking to retain influence, ”the deputy reminded.

“On the part of the former director of the CIA, there is a moment of cunning, they are pursuing national mercantile interests, and there is no real threat from Russia,” Morozov stressed.

Earlier, former CIA head David Petraeus at a conference in India called President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin “the greatest gift for NATO”.
