Anton Morozov urged the EU to talk some sense to Kiev because of the situation in the Azov Sea

Member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs AntonMorozovcommented on the statement by Federica Mogherini, the head of EU diplomacy, about the EU’s readiness to take action in connection with the situation in the Sea of Azov.

“Apparently, Mogherini lacks information. Russia consistently fulfills all its international obligations. She needs to look properly at what is happening in the Azov Sea. I have little idea that the European Union will move on to any real action” – he said.

The deputy also noted that the behavior of Ukraine in the Sea of Azov could provoke a tense situation.

“I would like our partners from the European Union to reason with Ukrainians, who, according to reports, intend to organize inspections of Russian ships in the Sea of Azov. This is contrary to the Law of the Sea. The task of international diplomacy is to prevent the emergence of another tension point on the continent” – said Morozov.
