Elena Panina: “European countries are interested in improving relations with Russia”

Many European countries are interested in improving relations with Russia and its return to PACE, because they understand that without it, it is impossible to solve geopolitical issues. This was stated by a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Elena Panina at a meeting with the Italian delegation.

“Many representatives of the Italian business, who had previously left Russia because of the sanctions, are returning again. Today, not only businessmen come to us, but also politicians and public figures, so it is obvious that the “blockade” of Russia has failed, ”she said.

The deputy stressed that in European countries today the attitude towards Russia began to change.

According to Panina, the position of the new leadership of Italy proves that this country is ready to defend its own interests, and “not to play for someone else’s team.”

Eliseo Bertolazi, co-chairman of the Veneto-Russia association, researcher at the Institute of Higher School of Geopolitics and Related Sciences (Milan), added that in Italy there are people who, despite the difficulties, continue to support Russia’s position on the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass.

“In Verona on February 9, the second representative office of the Donetsk People’s Republic in Italy opened in a solemn atmosphere. Thus, Verona has once again confirmed its commitment to establishing friendly relations not only with Russia, but also with the Donbas, ”he said.
