Sergei Zheleznyak: the United States systematically disrupts the work of international organizations, primarily the UN

“The United States systematically disrupts the work of international organizations, primarily the UN, and this defiant behavior of Washington should not be left without a proper assessment of the international community.” This was stated by a member of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Sergey Zheleznyak.

The politician said: “The United States has lately been blatantly disrespectful of universally recognized norms of law, trying to usurp control over the work of major international organizations in the hope of turning them into puppets.

The refusal to issue visas to Russian, Iranian, Venezuelan, Cuban diplomats and politicians to participate in international events is a vivid evidence of US illegal pressure on sovereign countries. The outrageous and provocative actions of the US authorities against our colleague, State Duma deputy Inga Yumasheva, also require a tough response. The proposal, which has repeatedly been voiced by representatives of different countries, on the transfer of the offices of international organizations, including the UN, from the United States to the territory of other states, is becoming increasingly relevant. “One country should not be allowed to dictate its conditions to all nations, skimping on legal norms and arranging provocations against citizens of other states.”
