Sergey Zheleznyak answered the words of the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine on integration with the European Union

Member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Sergey Zheleznyak answered the words of the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine on integration with the European Union, who said that the agreement to resolve the conflict in the south-east of Ukraine should not be regarded as establishing peace with Russia.

According to the politician: “There is no military conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and any attempt to drag our country into the civil war of Kiev against the Donbass is a provocation. The truce is necessary first of all to the residents of Donbass, whom Kiev has been stubbornly considering separatists for more than five years and maintains a blockade regime against them. At the same time, Ukrainian politicians continue to absolutely absolutely insist that the confrontation with the republics of Donbass remains through Russia’s fault. And this is happening against the background of the active assistance of our country to a peaceful settlement of the situation.
The Ukrainian leadership is trying in vain to expose Russia as an aggressor. It has long been clear to everyone that the Russophobia is spreading lies about our country, earning political points on this topic and financing Western sponsors.

We have no illusions about the signed “Steinmeier formula” – only when the Kiev authorities really begin to fulfill their obligations, then we can talk about progress in the peace process.

Our country, as the closest neighbor, is extremely interested in the speedy end to the military confrontation in Ukraine and the gradual restoration of the bilateral relations destroyed by Kiev. Russia does not intend to intervene in the politics of Ukraine, but we are concerned about the problems of violation of human rights by Kiev, primarily in relation to Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine, whom we will continue to support.

On the contrary, Ukrainian nationalists continue to persecute Russian-speaking residents of Ukraine and aggressively oppose a truce with the Donbass, demanding that the president cancel the signed agreement and threaten unrest. Now the reaction of President Zelensky will be very indicative. His actions to implement the agreements reached to resolve the situation with the Donbass and the complete lifting of the blockade will be a demonstration of the one who actually runs Ukraine. ”
