Sergey Zheleznyak: “Even the NATO itself does not believe in the possibility of Ukraine or Georgia joining the Alliance”

“NATO military exercises in cooperation with Ukraine and Georgia in the Black Sea are saber-rattling at the borders with our country. The Alliance is trying to demonstrate again that, thanks to the readiness of Kiev and Tbilisi to open its doors to NATO bases, it intends to threaten our country in the Black Sea region. ” So commented on the approach of a group of NATO ships to the Black Sea.

“Certainly,” the politician noted, “NATO’s military maneuvers in the Black Sea are another senseless attempt to put pressure on Russia on the issue of Crimea’s ownership. The leadership of the Alliance for the anniversary of the reunification of the Crimea with Russia called for the return of the peninsula to Ukraine, in vain dreaming about the deployment of NATO ships in the city of glory of Russian sailors Sevastopol.

Under the auspices of the United States, NATO continues to provoke Russia, hiding behind the already annoying and completely fabricated cause of the “Russian threat”, which is being imposed as an argument for the growth of military spending on other countries.”

“At the same time,” the deputy added, “in the foreseeable future, they do not believe in the possibility of Ukraine or Georgia joining the Alliance. All promises of readiness to admit to the Alliance members these countries are being made exclusively as an anti-Russian media campaign.”
