Member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Sergey Zheleznyak expressed his condolences to the families and friends of those killed and injured in the shooting of people in mosques in New Zealand.
According to the politician: “The terrible tragedy that befell the peaceful New Zealand city of Christchurch is a bloody manifestation of Western connivance towards Nazi and extremist ideologies that are gaining strength against the background of the failure of migration policies, double standards and attempts to flirt with terrorist organizations for political dividends.
Attacks on believers in different countries are not the first attempt of fanatical criminals to split the society. Crimes against representatives of religions are trying to deliberately provoke inter-religious conflict not only in a separate state, but also at the global level. Responsible states need to be aware of this and interact with each other in order to effectively counter such a serious threat. ”
“Russia has a unique experience of preserving multi-ethnic and multi-religious peace and harmony, which our country is ready to share with foreign colleagues. It is also necessary to make joint efforts of all states and special services so that terrorism in any of its manifestations ceases to be one of the main international threats undermining the foundations of a civilized society, ”the parliamentarian emphasized.
