Sergey Zheleznyak: “Huntsman’s statements are not permissible for modern international relations and demonstrate the aggressive nature of American foreign policy”

“American diplomacy, unfortunately, has never been delicate and instead of establishing an open dialogue between our countries, continues to use the language of threats and ultimatums. Statements similar to what Ambassador Huntsman is doing are not permissible for modern international relations and demonstrate the aggressive nature of American foreign policy. ” This opinion was expressed by Sergey Zheleznyak, a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, commenting on the words of the US ambassador to Russia about the American aircraft carrier group in the Mediterranean, which he called a signal to Moscow.

“For our country, the deployment of NATO bases and groups along the perimeter of the Russian borders is certainly a serious signal, to which we will adequately respond. But to threaten Russia with weapons is clearly a hopeless and even unsafe way, ”the politician added.

According to him: “It is obvious that“ the destabilizing activity ”throughout the world, which the ambassador attributes to Russia, is led by the United States. Washington has dozens of coup d’etat in different regions of the world, military provocations, bombardment of sovereign countries, economic blockades, withdrawal from international treaties, trade wars, cyber attacks and other methods of unfair competition. Attempts by the United States to accuse our country of all mortal sins are continuing. The purpose of these information attacks is absolutely transparent – to find a reason to strengthen the American military presence in the world, so that to keep countries in fear that do not want to be subordinate to Washington. In the case of Russia, such methods do not work and it remains to be regretted that they have not yet understood this in the US. ”
