Sergey Zheleznyak: Our country has already stated that it is itself interested in an objective and unbiased investigation of the incident with Navalny

“Our country has already stated that it is itself interested in an objective and unbiased investigation of the incident with Navalny. That said, we strongly object to labeling and appointing those responsible without conducting an objective investigation. No one from Germany has provided Russia with any evidence of the poisoning of the oppositionist. The situation is beginning to look more and more like the scenario with the so-called Skripal poisoning, in which the British side is trying in vain to find evidence. ” This was stated by a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Sergei Zheleznyak, commenting on the statement of the G7 foreign ministers about the incident with Alexei Navalny.

The politician noted: “The collective intelligence in the person of the G7 foreign ministers, under the influence of the Russophobic Western lobby, makes an unreasonable verdict on the allegedly proven poisoning of a Russian citizen. Such a hasty and unproven position can be regarded solely as an attempt to spin up another round of the anti-Russian campaign. And since, against the background of the incident with Navalny in the United States and a number of European countries, they started talking about sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 gas project, the true goals of this maneuver become obvious. The more often the West, led by the United States, connects Navalny’s state of health and the implementation of Nord Stream 2, the more open will be the lies that anti-Russian forces are trying to hide under the guise of a struggle for human rights.”
