Sergey Zheleznyak: “Russia’s actions in the foreign arena have never threatened and do not threaten the United States”

“Russia’s actions in the foreign arena have never threatened and do not threaten the United States of America, as well as its allies and any other countries. These Russophobic fabrications are now being heard from the lips of the adviser to the President of the United States, counting on an internal audience, in order to demonstrate to American citizens, and most importantly, political opponents, Mr. Trump’s determination to defend America’s interests and resist Russia. ” This opinion was expressed by a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Sergei Zheleznyak, commenting on the statements of the adviser to the President of the United States on national security.

According to the politician: “The United States has not yet learned to defend national interests except through aggression against other states. Unfortunately, the language of pressure and sanctions is the only available method for Washington to conduct international affairs. In this way, the United States will not be able to achieve its declared goals, namely, limiting “all nuclear weapons in an objective manner,” since neither Russia nor China are going to follow someone else’s rules, convenient for only one player. It is high time in Washington to understand that the world is changing and that sanctions and blackmail will inevitably return to the equal dialogue, which Russia has always called for. Only in this format, our country is ready to discuss international issues and build partnerships. ”

“The extension of the START-3 Treaty must be maintained on the terms previously reached and agreed by the parties. It is advisable to discuss any new conditions of the Agreement only after the mutual extension of the current agreement, ”the parliamentarian believes.
