Sergey Zheleznyak: Tehran’s decision to suspend the fulfillment of a number of obligations under the ADJ is a forced step by the country’s leadership

“Tehran’s decision to suspend the fulfillment of a number of obligations under the FASD is a forced step by the country’s leadership and a quite expected response to the US actions towards Iran.” This opinion was expressed by a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Sergey Zheleznyak.

“The United States is pushing Iran into actions, the consequences of which may adversely affect the international situation and the balance of nuclear forces in the world. It is Washington’s provocations that are the key factor in destabilizing the situation in the Middle East. The restoration of all sanctions against Iran and its international partners, the total blockade and the unilateral withdrawal from the nuclear program agreement caused Tehran’s actions. We must pay tribute to the leadership of Iran, which a year has not responded to the demarche of Washington. At the same time, the refusal of the Iranian leadership to separate obligations under the FIDD is an alarming signal that requires attention and assistance from the world community in resolving the US-Iranian confrontation so that the conflict does not acquire even more dangerous forms, ”the politician believes.
