Sergey Zheleznyak: “The Polish leadership is increasingly flirting with the United States, hoping to receive financial assistance”

“The pro-American speeches of the official Warsaw regarding the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline are a political action that was ordered to Warsaw in Washington. The Polish leadership is increasingly flirting with the United States, hoping to receive financial assistance from the overseas patron by supporting the anti-Russian campaign in Europe. There is no economic sense in Poland’s opposition to the Russian-European gas project, ”said Sergei Zheleznyak, a member of the State Duma’s international affairs committee.

The politician stressed: “The countries of Europe, primarily Germany, understand the benefits of direct and reliable supplies of inexpensive Russian gas and express their readiness to defend their own interests and protect energy security. It is obvious that the US sanctions, although they slow down the project, will not prevent the completion of Nord Stream 2.

Only countries that are not politically independent, such as Poland, submit to pressure from Washington, even to the detriment of their own economy and the interests of citizens, by signing a 20-year contract for the supply of expensive American LNG. Warsaw, to please Washington, is even ready to quarrel with its own European neighbors, opposing the gas project.

In such European countries as Austria, Italy, where, despite blackmail and rough pressure from the United States, they do not politicize the commercial project Nord Stream 2 and increasingly talk about the need to get rid of Washington’s influence in order to pursue an independent policy, including development of relations with our country ”.
