Sergey Zheleznyak: “The United States takes responsibility for the aggravation in the Donbass”

The Ukrainian authorities are working on a scenario of armed provocations in the Donbass. According to a REGNUM correspondent on June 6, member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Sergey Zheleznyak (United Russia) announced this.

“Mr. Zelensky’s requests for arms supplies from the United States do not fit in with the intention voiced by the Ukrainian side to lift the economic blockade from Donbass,” said Zheleznyak.

Russia will be ready to welcome the peaceful reversal of Kiev’s position on the DPR and LPR, the deputy said.

“But it seems that the new Ukrainian authorities, hiding behind the words about peace in the Donbas, are working on the scenario of the next armed provocations against the South-East,” said the parliamentarian.

The results of the meeting of the contact group in June will show whether Kiev has the political will and real intention to engage in dialogue with the Donbas, declaring Zheleznyak.

“The United States, ready to supply weapons to a country in a state of civil war, must clearly understand that they are taking responsibility for the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine and new civilian casualties,” he added.

President Vladimir Zelensky discussed with US Senator Robert Portman the supply of arms to Ukraine. This was announced in the US Congress by the senator himself. He also said that he had “open and detailed” conversation with the new Minister of Defense of the Republic Ruslan Homchak about how America can help the Ukrainian army.
