Sergey Zheleznyak: “The US continues to impose on the world community the absurd idea of the seizure of Crimea by Russia”

“The US continues to impose on the world community the absurd idea of Russia’s seizing the Crimea. Mr. Pompeo from overseas invents fiction about the aggression of our country, comparing the diametrically opposite situations in the Crimea and the Golan Heights, in relation to which Washington directly violates the UN resolution. ” This was stated by a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Sergey Zheleznyak.

The politician stressed: “Washington is completely indifferent to what fate awaited the inhabitants of the Crimea if the Bandera troops entered the territory of the peninsula. Only the historic decision to reunite with Russia saved the Crimeans from inevitable genocide. ”

The politician noted: “It is not surprising that the US Secretary of State does not compare the situation in the Crimea and Kosovo, since it traditionally closes its eyes to the obvious truth about the Balkan tragedy created by the hands of NATO.

Washington manages to turn the historical truth inside out, applying a policy of double standards where it suits them.

The same applies to the position of the head of the State Department regarding the so-called “tyrants”, to whom Mr. Pompeo, again at his discretion, counts only those heads of independent countries who do not agree to dance to the US tune. But the United States is pleased to support and finance anti-people regimes that are willing to carry out any instructions from Washington.

All this is a demonstration of how the United States is trying to break the system of international law, turning it into a set of certain rules that they themselves invented and impose on the rest of the world. This is unacceptable and knocks the foundation out of the security system. ”
