Sergey Zheleznyak: “The US President has demonstrated the strength of our country in the foreign policy arena”

“The US president in an attempt to blame the previous head of state and ridicule a new presidential candidate, convicting them of weaknesses before Russia, demonstrated the strength of our country in the foreign arena.” So commented a member of the State Duma committee on international affairs, Sergei Zheleznyak, the statement of Donald trump about the Big Seven.

“For the first time during the reduction of G 8 to G 7, the American side pointed to the true reason for Russia to leave this format. Until now, the main reasons remained called in the West “annexation” of the return of Crimea to Russia and baseless accusations of our country’s participation in the civil war of Kiev against the Donbass. A new lie was the publication in the American media of information about allegedly existing ties between Russia and terrorists in Afghanistan. The head of the White House publicly admitted that this is another custom-made fake, ”the politician noted.

He emphasized: “The inability to reconcile with the loss of influence of traditional world centers, Russia’s obvious successes in resolving global conflicts and the growth of our country’s authority are jealously perceived by some Western partners. Fear of finally changing the paradigm for the further development of the world has pushed the G8 leaders incited by the United States to actions that exclude the full participation of Russia. Our country, as President of Russia Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated, does not accept the language of pressure and dictatorship. We stand for equal rights and open cooperation between countries in the face of global challenges. The strategy we have chosen has proved that only together, having rejected any political contradictions, it is possible to achieve international stability and sustainable development. Undoubtedly, the resumption of Russia’s work in the G8 format is possible only with the full participation of all the union countries on absolutely equal conditions. ”
