“The US dissatisfaction with Russia’s refusal to deconflict with the UN in Syria due to its inefficiency, and sometimes danger, is another contrived reason to blame our country. At the same time, Washington regularly withdraws from more important international agreements, without looking back at the consequences. ” This was stated by a member of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Sergey Zheleznyak.
“Russia has shown itself in the Syrian settlement as an exclusively responsible partner of the legitimate government of the Arab Republic, advocating for the preservation of the country’s statehood. At the same time, the American contingent is still in Syria without the consent of the country’s leadership, and the USA continues to carry out subversive activities, trying to dictate its conditions and control the sovereign resources of the republic, ”the deputy emphasized.
According to the politician: “We have always advocated a concerted effort and constructive cooperation between countries interested in a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Syria, which cannot be said about the United States. But any mechanism for regulating the actions of the parties in the zone of instability will only work when it is used equally by all parties to the process. It is absurd to demand exclusively from Russia to fulfill voluntary agreements while completely ignoring them by other participants.
In addition, practice has shown that the deconflicting mechanism can be used for misinformation, which in itself is a danger to the civilian population of the country.
The Russian military and diplomatic mission, and without a deconflicting mechanism, is very responsible for humanitarian issues and ensuring the security of the civilian population of Syria. Thanks to the professional and well-coordinated actions of our military, Syrian citizens managed to leave the danger zones on Russian humanitarian corridors more than once. The population of Syria regularly receives the necessary assistance from our country, and Russian specialists help the Syrians in rebuilding the destroyed economy. ”
