Sergey Shargunov, member of the Committee on International Affairs said that what is happening in the territory of the former Yugoslavia, including the detention of Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin, is an occasion for the Donbas to be careful and cautious about the ideas of introducing a “peacekeeping” contingent.
He noted that the incident occurred on the territory that is formally considered Serbian.
“Everything that happened to the former Yugoslavia led to the fact that thousands and thousands of Serbs were expelled from their lands. And it is not surprising that in Bosnia, I suspect, perhaps in Croatia, they do not want to see not only the writer, but Donbas militiaman Zakhar Prilepin” he said.
“We remember that at one time, the so-called European peacekeepers were introduced into the territory of the former Yugoslavia. And literally on the outskirts there turned out those troops that put an end to the existence of the Republic of Serbian Krajina. And now, of course, you can declare persona non grataa person from Russia,”- said Shargunov.
“I wouldn’t like to see the repetition of that blitzkrieg against the Serbs on the territory of Donbass. It must not be allowed to happen “concluded the expert.
