Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the Duma’s international affairs committee, called the visit of French politicians to the Crimea “a fact-finding mission.”
The parliamentarian said this immediately after the arrival of the delegation of deputies of the French parliament to Simferopol, the correspondent of the Federal News Agency reports.
“The main goal of the French delegation is to see how the Russian Crimea lives when they return home,” Leonid Slutsky told reporters. “What are the economic and social problems and how are they solved?”
Leonid Slutsky said that the program of the visit provides for communication between French deputies and residents of Yalta, Sevastopol and other cities on the peninsula.
“Where they want, they will stop there,” stressed Slutsky. – They will hear not only that people are happy, but also about problems and how they are solved. And honestly tell about this to the European public. ”
The politician stressed that this visit is a “fact-finding mission.”
“We accept friends who were not afraid to risk their official political position, political career, and were the first to come to Crimea.
The world has learned from them that Crimea is not enslaved, but rejoices at returning to Russia. The same delegation arrived in Crimea today, although many of them have already lost their posts, ”said Slutsky.
Recall the delegation of deputies of the Parliament of the French Republic arrived in Simferopol to participate in events dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the “Crimean Spring”.
