Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs:
“The Fourth Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments will be held at the end of September next year in Astana. In my opinion, this is deeply symbolic: in 2019 it will be a quarter of a century since the day when President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev first spoke at Moscow State University about the need for Eurasian integration.
His lecture, delivered to representatives of the Russian scientific community, largely determined the contours of the integration processes in the Eurasian space. And today Kazakhstan remains one of the leaders of not only economic but also the inter-parliamentary cooperation of Eurasian states.
I am sure that many of the ideas expressed by the participants of the 3rd Meeting of Speakers today will have already become quite realistic by the time of the meeting in Astana”.
