Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky:
“The announcement by non-grata of two employees of the Russian Embassy in Berlin on the basis of suspicions of allegedly involvement in Russia in the murder of a Georgian citizen is clearly an unfriendly step.
This is akin to the Highly Likely campaign in the Skripals poisoning case launched in 2018 in the UK. The investigation is not completed, no evidence has been presented, however, all far-fetched and baseless conclusions have already been made! Otherwise, such an approach cannot be called another manifestation of anti-Russian hysteria.
I’m sure that the Russian side will react adequately and symmetrically, in accordance with the existing diplomatic practice. ”
