Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky:
“The resolution of the Polish Sejm does not stand up to criticism. Polish lawmakers declare the equal responsibility of Nazi Germany and the USSR in unleashing the Second World War. Where did these people’s stories be taught? Do the decisions of the Nuremberg Tribunal mean something to them? To put on one board the fascists and fighters with the “brown plague” is a rare cynicism, passing blasphemy.
Moreover, the Seimas resolution calls for “not falsifying history.” The parliamentarians of Poland have well mastered the well-known Washington method of “passing from one’s head to the other” and blaming others for what they themselves have done a lot. With such resolutions, the country’s parliament is trying to cover up the shameful words and deeds of its own statesmen of the past, to rehabilitate their flirtations with the Nazi regime.”
