“The international affairs committees of the parliaments of Russia, Turkey and Iran will hold the first joint meeting in the State Duma on April 10. It will be opened by the Vice-Speaker of the lower chamber Sergei Neverov. The Russian side will be attended by deputies and members of the Federation Council (Leonid Slutsky, Konstantin Kosachev, Vasily Piskarev, Svetlana Zhurova, Dmitry Novikov, Vladimir Dzhabarov, Sergey Kislyak), major scientists and experts. The Iranian parliamentary delegation is headed by the chairman of the commission on national security and foreign policy of the Majlis Heshmatolla Falah tpishe and the delegation of the National Assembly of Turkey – Head of the International Affairs Committee, Volkan Bozkir.
The main theme of the tripartite meeting will be the situation in Syria and around it. In addition to the Syrian dossier, they intend to consider in a complex all the issues of regional security.
We are counting on a professional discussion, as well as putting the format on a regular basis. Such meetings can be held annually in turns in Moscow, Ankara and Tehran.”
