Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs:
“The introduction of US sanctions against the Chechen special squad” Terek “is utter nonsense and absurdity. It seems that new blacklists were introduced only to support the action of the notorious Magnitsky Act.
It was from this law, signed by President Barack Obama at the end of his first term, that the reloading process in Russian-American relations began. As a result, the policy of unlawful US pressure brought the mutual dialogue with Russia to zero. Sanctions are being introduced just for the sake of sanctions; this has become a special kind of political paranoia in the United States.”
