Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs:
“The third committee of the UN General Assembly for a year in a row adopts a resolution on the alleged violations of human rights in Crimea on the initiative of Ukraine. And for several years in a row the number of countries that voted for the document, if not decreasing, then certainly not growing. Given that the number of abstentions and those who voted against or who did not vote in total are much higher than those who supported. All this speaks about the real level of significance of the initiative for most states of the world.
Nevertheless, once again we have to admit that a biased and biased approach of the collective West and its satellites has prevailed on the United Nations platform. Conclusions about mythical oppression, violations of human rights in Crimea are made in absentia, without proof and without proof. None of the “accusers” have been to the peninsula and do not really know what is happening there over the years of being a part of the Russian Federation.
I repeat, I am ready to assist in the arrival of a special UN fact-finding mission in Crimea as soon as the global epidemiological situation allows. As a result, I am sure that the tradition (or inertia) of adopting such “fake” resolutions will simply exhaust itself. Because everything is simple: statements about some kind of oppression and persecution in Crimea do not correspond to the truth.
Yes, and one more thing: the UN should finally return the issues of violation of fundamental human rights in Crimea to Ukraine, which continues direct abuse of the inhabitants of the peninsula, blocking the supply of fresh water. This is reality, not anti-Russian myths. “
