Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky:
“Trump’s decree on blocking the ownership of the Venezuelan authorities in the United States is banditry and raiding. Washington thus behaves as an extremely unreliable partner who, under far-fetched pretexts, is engaged in elementary robbery.
Such actions are flagrantly contrary to international law. The United States continues to intervene in the affairs of a sovereign state by methods of economic terrorism and blackmail, exerting pressure to change the ruling regime in Caracas.
Maduro remains the only legitimate and legally elected president. Any talk about violating democracy and usurping power against the backdrop of real steps to worsen the situation of the Venezuelan population is cynicism and the hegemony of the United States. “
