The Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs also emphasized that this is “an absolutely timely measure, which should not be delayed for a minute”.
“The Council of the State Duma made a decision to establish a commission to investigate foreign interference in Russia’s internal affairs, it will be chaired by the Chairman of the Committee on Security and Corruption Control Vasilii Piskarev. Members of the Committee on International Affairs will also be included, and along with the other members will start their work immediately,” said the Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky.
He expressed confidence that all the facts of the meddling of representatives of a number of foreign states into the affairs of the Russian Federation will be promptly revealed before the combined voting day — September 8.
“In addition, we will fully use the entire parliamentary resource to firmly resist all attempts of foreign meddling, both in the election process and in general in issues of state sovereignty of Russia. We will also announce the results of the investigation at all international platforms and talk about the inadmissibility of such approach,” concluded Leonid Slutsky.
