Leonid Slutsky: “In their maniacal desire to contain President Trump, United States lawmakers have agreed that Russia is a sponsor of terrorism”

Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky:

“The media reported on the content of a new bill of US senators with the monstrous title of the” Act to protect American security from the Kremlin’s aggression of 2018 “. We are waiting for the official promulgation of the document. In the meantime, we can say that the initiative is a clear demonstration of the favorite reception of the American establishment “the tail is wagging the dog”. In their maniacal drive to contain President Trump, United States lawmakers have agreed that, to be sure, Russia is a sponsor of terrorism. At the same time, the facts that the United States as a result of its criminal policy in the Middle East actually contributed to the emergence of Al-Qaeda, IG and Jabhat al-Nusra are completely dumped from the accounts. This is absolutely hypocritical and deadlock logic, the transfer of “from a sick head to a healthy one.”

A new cold war is waged against Russia, and it is much more rigid and unprincipled than during the times of the USSR. In the fuse of domestic political struggle or for the sake of establishing one’s own hegemony behind the ocean, they are ready to deliberately distort the image of our country in the world, imprison innocent people, erase regimes from the face of the earth and destroy leaders of states that oppose a unipolar world order.

The United States is the only power on the planet that allows itself to intervene at the legislative level in the affairs of other countries. All this is absolutely wild and destructive. We are counting on the enlightenment of Europe. The European Union, to which the authors of the bill also appeal, should not, as in the case of refusal to resume anti-Iran sanctions, support the tightening of the sanctions regime against the Russian Federation. There is absolutely no basis for this.”
