“The Russia-Africa Conference next year will become the starting point for a new round of cooperation between the State Duma and the parliaments of Africa.
We spoke about this today at a meeting with ambassadors of African countries. Our relations are growing stronger from year to year: trade is growing, the volume of investments is increasing. Accordingly, there are more and more new issues related to the development of our cooperation. Many of them need to be considered namely at the parliamentary level.
I am talking about interaction not only with individual states, but with the African Union as a whole. Let me remind you that this organization includes 55 countries. Next year, the AU will be chaired by Egypt, and we are very much counting on our Egyptian colleagues to intensify the dialogue with the parliaments of Africa”.
