Leonid Slutsky: “The accusations of the State Department of violating human rights in Crimea have nothing to do with reality”

The statement of the US State Department about human rights violations in Crimea is unfounded. This was stated by RIA Novosti head of the Committee on International Affairs, deputy from the LDPR faction Leonid Slutsky. So the parliamentarian commented on the annual report of the US State Department on the state of human rights in the world.

“The accusations of the State Department of violating human rights in Crimea have nothing to do with reality,” said Slutsky.

According to the deputy, it is no coincidence that Washington timed its “next horror stories and filkins of letters” to the fifth anniversary of the annexation of the Crimea to Russia.

“The authors of the report have never been in the Russian Crimea and do not know how the peninsula lives and breathes today. Their goal is once again to blacken Russia, to present it as a world aggressor, ”Slutsky is sure.

In conclusion, the parliamentarian added: “It is not clear on what evidence the conclusions of the report are drawn. Americans should come to the peninsula once, as many European delegations have done before. Then, I think, the degree of the anti-Crimean rhetoric would obviously have been reduced. ”

Earlier, the US State Department once again accused Russia of violating human rights in the Crimea. In particular, Washington claims alleged cases of torture, abduction and illegal arrests.
