Chairman Viacheslav Volodin suggests US congressmen be invited to IPU to discuss Washington’s policy

Russian State Duma (lower house of parliament) Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has suggested that US parliamentarians should be invited to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) sessions instead of American experts for “an interesting and important conversation.”

“We started our work with listening to the opinion of a scientist from the US. I think you will agree that it would have been a more interesting and important conversation if colleagues from the US Congress spoke out,” he said at the 140th IPU in Qatar on Sunday.

Volodin added that many issues discussed at the IPU sessions are related to the US and Washington’s policy.
