Today, the Foreign Affairs Committee held a meeting with the delegation of the Finnish Parliament, headed by Matti Vanhanen, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee. The parties discussed the most important issues of the international agenda, touched upon the situation in Ukraine, Syria, Venezuela, as well as issues of cross-border cooperation. First Deputy Chairman of the Committee Svetlana Zhurova @szhurova noted the importance of developing this area of cooperation, which was supported by the Finnish side. However, the central topic of discussion was the relationship of the Russian Federation with the PACE.
Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the Committee, said: “I strongly supported the initiative recently expressed by Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin that it might make sense in the near future to raise the question of the return to Russia of the considerable millions of euros that are due to us we do not work in PACE in a forced way. ” Russia’s position is to repeal the discriminatory norms of the organization’s regulations.
