Experts From 29 Countries Gathered At Primakov Readings Forum In Moscow

Primakov Readings start working on Monday, June 10, TASS reports. A large international forum is held in Moscow for the 5th time. This year it is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of an outstanding statesman, a prominent scientist Yevgeny Primakov.

Traditionally, among the participants of the conference are high-ranking representatives of Russian authorities. This time about 80 foreign specialists from 29 countries will join them. About 600 people represent our country. Among them are scientists, politicians and businessmen.

The central issue of the Primakov Readings will be the topic of confrontation and its alternatives. The first day of the forum will be devoted to the problem of stabilizing the Middle East, existing contradictions in the Asia-Pacific region, the European Union and its place in world politics, as well as a new confrontation between the great powers.

Head of Russian Foreign Ministry Sergey Lavrov will speak at the forum tomorrow. Then, arms control, the “new cold war” and the development of the domestic economy will be discussed.

As Russkiy Mir reported, academician of Russian Academy of Sciences Yevgeny Primakov served as Chairman of Russian government and Head of the diplomatic department. He was a State Duma Deputy, President of Russian Chamber of Commerce, and headed the Foreign Intelligence Service of Russia. Yevgeny Primakov died on June 26, 2015. He was 85 years old.
