Lithuania adopted a resolution that Europe should tighten sanctions against Moscow according to the press service of the parliament.
Thus, according to the Lithuanian deputies, an ultimatum must be put forward: Russia is obliged to transfer control over the Kerch Strait and the “occupied” territories of the United Nations and to release the detained Ukrainian sailors.
Otherwise, Vilnius advises European colleagues to disconnect Moscow from the SWIFT banking system, as well as to increase pressure on the financial and oil and gas sector of the Russian economy.
Last week, Lithuania imposed sanctions against Russia after a provocation by the Ukrainian Navy in the Kerch Strait. Leonid Slutsky, chairman of the Duma’s international affairs committee, called Vilnius’s actions absurd.
