Maria Butina pleaded guilty to violating US law

Russian citizen Maria Butina pleaded guilty to conspiring to violate the US Foreign Agents Law.

Maria Butina agreed that she was in collusion with an American citizen “to create informal channels of communication with Americans who have power and influence in US policy for the benefit of the Russian Federation.”

The term of imprisonment for this item is five years. The actual term can be up to six months in prison, after that she will be deported to the Russian Federation, reports NBC News.
