Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Walker. This is the press service of the President of Ukraine.
Petro Poroshenko, who is the President of Ukraine, became a participant in the meeting with Kurt Walker, who is the United States Special Representative for Ukraine. This became known from the message of representatives of the press service of the President of Ukraine.
“Petro Poroshenko and Kurt Walker coordinated approaches regarding the continuation of international pressure on the Russian side, which should ensure a clear respect for freedom of navigation,” the press service reported.
In the framework of the meeting, both sides expressed confidence that the effect of international sanctions against the Russian Federation, as well as the likelihood of their intensification, “remain an important element of a peaceful settlement of the situation and deterrence of Russian aggression against Ukraine.”
A few days earlier, Leonid Slutsky, who heads the State Duma’s international affairs committee, commented on Kurt Volcker’s appeals, in which he spoke of the need to introduce additional sanctions against Russia.
Slutsky, talking to the press, noted that this remark seems to be another confirmation of who is actually the “master” of Kiev. He noted that this demonstrates the desire of the United States to control the development of the situation on the territory of Ukraine.
In his speech, Leonid Slutsky noted that some European countries suffer from US actions under these conditions. He argued his statement by the fact that the very fact of the termination of cooperation with Russia in several areas turns into serious material losses for these countries.
