Russia and Saudi Arabia agreed to expand cultural exchanges

Moscow and Riyadh are planning to expand cultural exchanges, TASS reports. According to the Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia, Khaled bin Abdul Aziz al-Faleh, the two largest oil exporters in the world have agreed to cooperate not only in the sphere of oil market regulation, but also in culture. The decision was made at the meeting of Russian-Saudi intergovernmental commission, which was held in Moscow.

The Minister confirmed that new interesting projects will be implemented. He recalled that artists from Saudi Arabia took part in exhibition on artificial intelligence. It took place in the Hermitage and was part of the program of the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Recently, Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra performed in Saudi Arabia. The country will be the guest of honor at the Saint Petersburg International Cultural Forum in 2021.

In particular, joint projects between museums of both countries with the assistance of Russian Direct Investment Fund will be implemented. It is planned to jointly develop the State Museum of Art of the Peoples of the East in Russia.
