Russia’s refusal to participate in the grain deal will have no consequences for the country. This opinion was expressed to RIA Novosti by Alexei Chepa, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs.
According to him, the strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the coast of Sevastopol is a direct violation of the agreements.
“Ukraine attacked our ships, which are responsible for the safety of the wire of ships with grain. And this is a direct violation of all agreements,” Chepa said.
On October 29, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the suspension of the country’s participation in the grain deal. Later, the Russian side officially notified UN Secretary General António Guterres about this.
It was reported that the reason for this decision was the strike of drones on the ships of the Black Sea Fleet and civilian ships involved in ensuring the security of the grain corridor.
