Alexey Chepa commented on the US proposal to exclude Russia from the G20

An attempt to push through the exclusion of Russia from the G20 from the United States will not succeed, said Alexei Chepa, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, deputy of the SRHR faction, in an interview with Lenta.ru. Thus, he commented on the proposal made by the American administration.

Earlier it became known that the US authorities will begin to seek the exclusion of Russia from some international organizations, including the G20. The measure was included in the country’s draft defense budget, which was agreed upon by the relevant committees of both houses of Congress.

Chepa, for his part, recalled that the G20 is not only the United States of America and not only NATO.

There are countries that categorically oppose the exclusion of Russia from the G20. Today, many countries are well aware that without the participation of Russia, most of the problematic issues are simply impossible to solve, the parliamentarian noted.

He also added that the Russian side will closely monitor developments and will respond to the US proposal through diplomatic channels.

And personally, I have confidence that an attempt to push through such proposals will not work, Alexey Chepa concluded.
