The North Atlantic Alliance has always prepared for an armed confrontation with the Russian Federation, allocating colossal financial resources for this. Alexey Chepa, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, spoke about this in a conversation with a correspondent of the Lenta.ru portal.
“NATO has always been preparing for war, and this is a structure that directly threatens our security. This has always been and remains,” the deputy said.
According to him, the NATO bloc was created to confront the countries included in the Warsaw Pact, and the main adversary for the alliance has always been Russia. At the same time, the North Atlantic Alliance receives about 2-3% of the GDP of the participating countries for military needs. The NATO leadership spends colossal financial resources at its own discretion.
Chepa emphasized that Germany’s operational plan in the event of an armed conflict on NATO’s eastern flank, published in the German publication Der Spiegel, is not something new. Because the North Atlantic Alliance has been preparing for conflict with Russia since its founding.
