Alexey Chepa: US wants to declare Russia a terrorist country due to non-working sanctions

The United States is trying to attach the status of a terrorist country to Russia in order to justify the failure of the sanctions imposed against our country. This opinion was expressed by Alexei Chepa, First Deputy Head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, RIA Novosti reports.

“They don’t know what to think of, the sanctions do not achieve the results they expect. So they are trying in this way to complicate Russia’s relations with all countries,” the parliamentarian argues.

Earlier, Politico reported that the US Congress may recognize Russia as a sponsor of terrorism if the State Department does not. The head of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, asked US President Joe Biden for such a service back in April. Later, the head of the State Department, Anthony Blinken, said that this possibility was being studied in the United States. The State Duma considered this proposal to be the ravings of a madman, and the Kremlin stated that at the present time it is difficult to do something else that would further spoil relations between Russia and the United States.
