Alexey Chepa: we must abandon Russia’s obligations in the WTO

Alexei Chepa, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Deputy Head of the A JUST RUSSIA FOR THE TRUTH faction, called for Russia to abandon its obligations in the World Trade Organization (WTO).

“According to the WTO charter, we bear obligations, while sanctions are imposed against us, which, in turn, violate all possible and impossible rules and laws of the World Trade Organization,” the deputy said.

He recalled that when Russia began to reduce certain supplies or ban them in the spring, European countries were indignant and pointed to a violation of the WTO charter.

“With a total trade ban on many of our companies in place,” he said, “I think we should waive all our commitments to the WTO.”
