Anton Morozov on the terrorist attack in Austria: “Strike to the very heart of Europe”

According to the deputy, with this attack, the militants actually declared war on the EU.

Anton Morozov, a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, expressed his opinion on terrorist acts in Europe in an interview with Life.ru.

It is no coincidence that Vienna could become a target for a terrorist attack. After all, the city is known as the cultural capital of Europe. Thus, the militants wanted to strike at the most painful area of the European community.

“This is, of course, a heinous crime. Austria is one of the wealthiest countries with the highest living standards of the population, so the fact that the terrorists decided to strike at the very heart of Europe is, of course, symbolic. Thus, we can assume that they have declared war not only on France, but on the whole of Europe, and will strive to impose their own order in Europe, – said the deputy.

As Anton Morozov noted, the problem with migrants, among whom terrorists are most often identified, is a European one, which cannot be solved in a short time. Therefore, the response to the terrorist threat must be collective.

– And this case shows once again that now is not the time for political divisions within Europe. And between Russia, Europe, America. It is possible to strengthen measures to combat modern challenges – this is terrorism, this is a pandemic, this is poverty and other development issues on a global scale. Therefore, it is very important here to unite opinions and approaches to implement collective efforts, the parliamentarian added.
