The plenary session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union began with a minute of silence. The parliamentarians honored the memory of those killed in the St. Petersburg metro.
“The terrorist act in St. Petersburg is directed not only against Russia, but the entire democratic world,” said Saber Chowdhury, head of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), speaking at the 136th assembly of the organization in the capital of Bangladesh.
Saber Chowdhury in his speech noted that there can be no tolerance for terrorists. According to him, every effort should be made to combat them. “I spoke with the delegation of Russia. Now we know that more than ten people died, many wounded. We must condemn any act of terrorism. Terrorism is a universal evil, “the Chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Union said.
The Chairman of the Ministry expressed sympathy and wished the wounded to recover as soon as possible.
Russian parliamentarians thanked their colleagues for their support. They are sure that the authorities will do everything to investigate this crime and prevent future terrorist acts.
